    Sounding over the DZ

    Load · Pilatus Porter

List the groups in exit order. Instructors, tandem masters and camera flyers count as seats. Students on the low pass get out first, on their own run.

    Exit plan

Fall rates used: belly 52 m/s, freefly 72 m/s, AFF and tandem (with drogue) about 52–55 m/s. All groups are checked against your canopy settings, so treat tandem reach as rough. Your DZ's exit order and the pilot's jump run come first.

    Limits

Defaults follow the DAeC training rules: 8 m/s ground wind for training jumps (6 m/s on the first and second jump), main cloud base at least 1300 m AGL, deployment no lower than 1000 m AGL. Your DZ's rules come first.

Forecast: DWD ICON-D2 (2.2 km grid, 48 h, new run every 3 h) via Open-Meteo, plus ICON-EU, ECMWF IFS, ECMWF AIFS, KNMI HARMONIE and the ICON-D2 ensemble for comparison. meteoblue's forecast through the meteoblue API with your key. Observations and rain radar: DWD via Bright Sky.

This is a planning aid. Real winds differ from any model, so check the DZ's wind readings and the pilot's winds aloft. Your instructor and the DZ make the call.
